Accessibility statement
Reviewed and updated: 15 October 2026
We want world-hero.net to be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader and at an enlarged page zoom. Below is an honest list of what has been done, what has not, and where to write if something does not work for you.
Our target
We aim at WCAG 2.1 level AA. The site currently conforms partially: the main barriers for screen readers and keyboards have been removed, while some sections are still being worked on.
What has been done
- Every icon button and text-free link (sign in, language, social networks, gallery arrows, news cards) now has a clear name for screen readers.
- Pages are marked up with regions: header, menu, main content and footer. A screen reader lists them, so you can jump between them instead of listening to everything from the top.
- A "Skip to main content" link sits at the very start of the page and appears on the first press of the Tab key.
- The language selector opens with the keyboard as well as the mouse, and each link states the language it switches to.
- The mobile menu (the burger) is a real button: it can be pressed from the keyboard and tells the screen reader whether the menu is open or closed.
- The focused element has a visible outline that stands out on the dark background.
- Decorative images and icons are hidden from screen readers so that placeholder names such as "ico-0" are not read out.
- If "reduce motion" is enabled in the operating system, page animations do not play.
- Every page declares its content language and has a single top-level heading.
What is still ahead
- The member area and the forum have not been fully reviewed: they are separate parts of the engine and we are working through them one at a time.
- Text contrast over background images has not been checked on every page; wherever it falls below the required level we will change the design.
- Testing with real screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) has been one-off so far, not regular.
- Page behaviour at 200% zoom has been checked on the home page and the server description, but not yet in the member area.
Using the site with a keyboard
- Tab moves to the next element, Shift + Tab to the previous one.
- Enter follows a link or presses a button; Space presses a button.
- Esc closes an open dialog, for example "Game files".
- The first press of Tab on a page reveals the "Skip to main content" link.
Reporting a barrier
If something on the site cannot be read or activated, please tell us. Include the page address and what you are using: a keyboard, a screen reader, page zoom. That helps us find the cause faster.
We reply within three working days.
